Help Us Build a Community of Music in the South Coast

Your donation will bring classical music into the lives of 25,000 children every year and fill the South Coast with classical music for all to enjoy. Your generous support makes possible the NBSO concert season with outstanding guest artists and educational programs like Music in the Mornings, Learning in Concert, Young People’s Concerts, Symphony Tales, and New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestras.

Donation opportunities include sponsorships and named sponsorships for music as well as education. Those who donate $1000 and more — plus our Monthly Symphony Sustainers — will receive invitations to special events which may include house concerts featuring NBSO guest artists. Donors who give $100 or more are recognized in the NBSO Season Program Book and on the NBSO website.

Thank you for helping us build a Community of Music in the South Coast!

The NBSO is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation.

Endowment Campaign

We are very pleased to announce that in the quiet phase of the endowment campaign we have raised $1.5 million towards our goal of $2 million. We have now begun the public phase of the campaign and need your help to bring it to a successful conclusion. Your support will:

  • Ensure the resources necessary for musician compensation to maintain the high quality of the orchestra.
  • Create “Classical Music Anywhere” programs that will bring innovative concert experiences to new and unexpected places and diverse audiences throughout the South Coast.
  • Provide strong support for our nationally recognized educational programs.
  • Expand educational programs to provide musical instruments and lessons to low-income, at-risk children in the South Coast.

Gifts in any amount are most appreciated and are recognized in the NBSO concert program book. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized in perpetuity as indicated below. You may also designate your gift to the David MacKenzie Fund for Music, which supports the educational programs and community outreach activities of the NBSO.

  • $1,000,000—Music Director Chair or President Chair
  • $500,000—Education Director Chair or Annual Concert
